Chapter 03 - Soils of Barro Colorado Island Table S1 and Data S1 - Soil taxonomy, texture, pH, total carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus, extractable cations, aluminum, iron, manganese, and silica for 16 soil pits from Barro Colorado Island, Panama.
Soils depth profiles are described for 16 soil pits from Barro Colorado Island, Panama. Depths are up to 3 m. Table S1 provides soil pit locations and a narrative description of soil mineralogy, horizons, and taxonomy. Data S1 provides quantitative values for soil texture; pH; total carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus; barium chloride extractable cations (Al, Ca, Fe, K, Mg, Mn, Na); effective cation exchange capacity; base saturation; aluminum saturation; dithionite extractable Al, Fe, and Mn; and oxalate extractable Al, Fe, Mn, P, and Si. Laboratory protocols are included. Determinations were made under the supervision of Benjamin Turner in collaboration with Ian Baillie.
