These files contain raw data to reproduce analyses in the paper. No custom code was used for these analyses.
Explanation of variables:
Foraging Observation.csv: Data from foraging observations of birds in traditional and mixed pine stands.
Bird ID = unique identifier for each bird
Time Start = time each foraging observation started
Duration = number of minutes of observation
Jack Pine = number of jack pine visited
Pin Oak = number of pin oak visited
Red Pine = number of red pine visited
Ground = number of times bird observed on ground
Snag = number of times snag visited
Cherry = number of times cherry visited
Other = number of times other tree species visited
Nesting data.csv: Nesting data Data for birds in traditional and mixed pine stands.
Nest ID = Unique nest identifier
Site = Traditional vs. Mixed Pine
Clutch size = number of eggs
Fate = Fate of nest (Fledged, Depredated, Unknown)
Distance to nearest red pine = distance in meters to from nest nearest red pine
Distance to nearest jack pine = distance in meters to from nearest jack pine
