This data release includes carbon stocks and sequestration rates for seagrass meadows and natural and restored tidal marshes in the Pacific Northwest US. Our studies have 1) estimated organic carbon stocks and sequestration rates for a Z. marina meadow in Padilla Bay, a National Estuarine Research Reserve in Washington, 2) conducted a blue C assessment of restored and natural tidal marshes in the Stillaguamish River estuary in Puget Sound, Washington, and 3) provided an assessment of carbon stocks and sequestration rates from 12 sites across the Snohomish estuary, representing emergent tidal wetland, forested tidal wetland, regenerating emergent wetland, and drained wetland in the Pacific Northwest US. Sediment accretion and carbon accumulation rates were determined with radiometric dating.
