This dataset accompanies the study Stahl et al 2018. Two cores were taken from a tidal freshwater forest of the Altamaha River in Georgia, USA, streamside, and interior. These cores were analyzed for bulk density, soil organic carbon, total nitrogen, total phosphorus, and mineral matter. Pb210 and Cs137 activities were measured by gamma analysis, and cores collected from both the streamside and interior had well defined Cs137 peaks, enabling the calculation of accretion rates.
