Geographical coordinates were obtained from Wikipedia Map Sources/GeoHack and Google Earth. Precise localities such as names of towns (-Cho, -Machi or -Son) or villages (-Mura), when provided in the literature have been included in parentheses following the description of the body of water in which C. sowerbii was found. In instances where mergers have occurred, the most current city and/or district names are used, with the original locality following in parentheses. Abbreviations: D= diameter (mm); SN= number of statocysts; GL= gonad length (mm); T= surface water temperature (ºC) of the water body; CL= current location; ? = precise location unknown.
