The Residential Building at 25 Prymorska Street (hereafter, the Residential Building) in Odesa, Ukraine, was damaged between 20 and 24 July 2023. Analysis conducted by the Smithsonian Cultural Rescue Initiative (SCRI), in collaboration with the Penn Cultural Heritage Center at the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology (PennCHC), the Cultural Heritage Monitoring Lab at the Virginia Museum of Natural History (CHML), and the Ukrainian Heritage Monitoring Lab (HeMo), confirmed this damage. This review was undertaken after reports from cultural heritage professionals of damage to cultural sites in Ukraine following Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022.
